So do not hope for a life without challenges or pain, instead, create a partnership that can withstand what is thrown. People often ask what the greatest quality to look for in a partner is and my response is the same time and time again: self and relational awareness. Of course, kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, communicative, trusting are important, but our commitment to self and relational awareness is a qualities that maintains growth throughout a lifetime. We can be kind and then have a trigger that set us off in ways unknown to us that create an unkind exchange. We can be generally trustworthy and then have a trigger or set of experiences that move us out of that space and towards betraying decisions. When we are committed to our self and relational awareness we know too much! We become responsible for or actions and words. We work towards mindfulness and awareness and bring forward the growth conversations that are required. It’s not that there aren’t flaws to it, or that we don’t ever misstep, but if you’re seeking and choosing and receiving and embracing a dynamic — seek for a commitment to growth and awareness. Seek for a human who wants to stand shoulder to shoulder, pull up their sleeves with you, and get their hands a bit dirty in life’s challenges.
